WELCOME TO UNITED FOR SOMALI STUDENTS (USS)

United for Somali Students is a dynamic, youth-led organisation working towards alleviating poverty in Somalia and diaspora communities through the provision of education.

Operating in the UK as a registered charity USS aims to improve the educational attainment of students by tackling the challenges facing Somali youth today. With an end goal of increasing livelihood opportunities for young people, the charity is dedicated to widening access to quality education for vulnerable students and the promotion of peace and sustainable development across the Horn of Africa. Also working with disadvantaged communities in the Diaspora, USS provides supplementary classes to 14-17 year olds living in the UK.

OUR MISSION & VISSION

To empower Somali youth in the Horn and across the Diaspora to overcome the adversities of conflict and poverty through the provision of education and promoting self-reliant communities, creating long-lasting change whilst improving the image of Somali students as positive and productive members of society.

We aim to empower impoverished Somali students through university scholarships in Somalia and supplementary classes in the UK. Advocate sustainable development in Somalia through the development of an educated and capable workforce and cultivate unity amongst Somalis through the integration of students regardless of tribal and ethnic divisions.
